Vehicle Interference/Damage

Dear Residents,

Between 02:10 and 02:30 on the 17/10/2025 a vehicle had been interfered with on Willowside, London Colney.

A victim had reported that last night at around 02:14 am a male tried entering his two vehicles.

A neighbour caught this on their CCTV and sent it across to him to make him aware.

Victim believes that they had some type of tool to try and gain access to the vehicles but they were unsuccessful.

The two vehicles involved were a Honda Jazz OW64AHC and a Mercedes WU66LPX

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
